Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were anticipating more assaults.
